 Scissor
lifts get their name from the way their side bars move. If
you look at them they look like a giant pair of scissors.
They also look like a giant accordion as they expand or contract.
Scissor lifts are used in warehouses,
construction sites and even department stores. Most of the
times they are used to move heavy or large items up to high
shelf. In construction a scissor lift can help lift materials
to the second or third floor. Just load up the deck and use
the controls to lift the whole load up to the next level.
There are many different types and models to choose from and
figuring out which one you need does not need to be a chore.
Mechanical lifts require you to crank
a handle. This handle then lifts the deck up or down. They
are for smaller and lighter loads.
There are smaller battery operated
scissor lift tables. These help prevent lifting injuries.
All you have to do is put slide the material onto the lift's
table and let the battery operated motor do the rest. It can
lift the whole load so you do not have to!
There are also heavy duty electric
scissor lifts that you can drive. These are used in construction
and even department stores. They have a much higher load limit
and make moving heavy items up and out of the way so much
easier. Once you use one you will wonder how you ever got
along without it!
